1932
Founded to provide essential services to families that were otherwise unavailable.
1964
Renamed to The Illawarra Society for Crippled Children.
1965
Received a bequeathed property on Crown Street, from Ms Martha Cram, a volunteer and member of the Lady’s Auxiliary which became The Illawarra Children’s Hospital (Cram House).
1971
Modified and expanded with community and government support to include a Day Care Centre and Special School.
1974
Cram House briefly closed.
1984
Expanded through community fundraising and government support, extending facilities to better serve residents.
1991
Established the first community-based group home at Bellambi.
1999
Changed name to The Cram Foundation.
2006
Sold Cram House and relocated administrative functions to Shellharbour City Centre.
2010
Added two group homes in Albion Park.
2011
Achieved external certification under Attendant Care Industry Management standards (ACIMSS) 2008.
2013
Commenced in-home care services and expanded community participation programs.
2014
Won the Illawarra Business Award for Excellence in Customer Service.
2017
Transitioned to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and expanded services.
2018
Began providing Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
2019/20
Collaborated to open the first new SDA home in Wongawilli.
2020
Despite the global pandemic, Cram continued to expand, opening two new 3-bedroom villas in Albion Park alongside further growth in its Community Participation and Support Coordination services.
2022
Cram celebrates its 90th Anniversary! Cram also expanded its services with the launch of a renovated 3-bedroom home and 1 bedroom unit in Albion Park.
2023
Winner of the 2023 Illawarra Business Awards ‘Outstanding Employee’ category.
2024
Opened four new homes in Dapto and transitioned a fifth home in Albion Park.
