Coronavirus (COVID –19) Update
The Cram Foundation is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and participants in managing the ongoing risk of the COVID-19 Virus.
As a provider of Disability Support, we continue to work with our teams, families, and other disability providers to manage this changing environment. Cram is vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily and are taking precautions where necessary to protect our staff, our participants, and our visitors.
Cram recognises that some of the changes we are required to make in order to manage the situation at times will impact our staff, participants and our community and apologise for any inconveniences caused. The health and safety of our participants is of utmost importance. We thank you for your patience as we continually monitor and adjust our programs to where required to safeguard our community. We will continue to communicate directly with participants and families about any changing precautionary measures.
The following immediate changes are being made to our services to:
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
SIL delivery continues with additional hygiene controls and precautionary measures in place. We review the guidance from Public Health daily and flex our service delivery as required. Social distancing within the houses will be maintained where possible. All staff and visitors are screened before site entry if they:
- have recently returned from overseas travel in the previous 14-days, OR
- had contact with anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the previous 14-days, OR
- currently have any flu-like symptoms such as cough (new or worsening), sore throat or shortness of breath with or without fever (>37.5°C).
Support Coordination
Cram’s Support Coordination services continue in person where participants and families feel comfortable however meetings can be held over the phone or via video conferencing if preferred.
Community Participation
Community participation has resumed as normal however, we adapt our service delivery in line with Cram's COVID-19 management protocols and Public Health guidance on a daily basis. In the event there are increased instances of community cases of COVID-19, Cram adapts its non-essential excursions into the community where possible for lower risk alternatives. We will continue to adapt our services as the situation requires and communicate with those affected.
In-home Support
Essential in-home support will continue with additional hygiene and cleaning measures in place.
Specialist Disability Support (SDA)
Cram is providing assistance with Specialist Disability Accommodation with all meetings face to face unless participants and families prefer phone and via video conferencing.
We appreciate that this is a period of uncertainty for many and we will continue to update these details on our response regularly during this time. Contact us if you have any serious concerns or questions regarding the current situation and our services. We also request that you make contact with Cram in the event you have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19 and have been in contact with our staff or participants.
