I am wanting to get involved
Cram is first and foremost an organisation about people. We care and support people with a disability and we welcome people who wish to join Cram for the same reasons, whether this is as a disability support worker, a nurse, an office worker, a volunteer or a Board member, we would love to hear from you. We operate in the Illawarra region of NSW covering Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven.
Working for Cram
Cram employs Disability Support Workers to provide direct support to our participants. Disability Support Worker tasks include direct personal care, manual handling and mobility assistance, medication administration, household tasks and transportation. Prior experience is not required however a willingness to work with people with a disability and displaying appropriate behaviours and work ethics are essential.
Our registered nurse provides health care and training support to ensure optimal well-being for our participants.
Team Leaders oversee the client services and disability support workers and are supported by a senior management team and administration staff.
Salary Packaging Arrangements for Full Time, Permanent Part Time and Casual employees
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are recognised by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as a Public Benevolent Institution and as such we are afforded concessional Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) treatment. This means that eligible employees are able to take advantage of salary packaging to receive up to an additional $15,900 of their salary tax-free.
We can also provide discounts on an extensive array of services and product and a meal card option.
A Professional Listening Ear
Sometimes in order to be able to maintain a good work life balance, we all need additional help to deal with problems at work and/or problems outside of work, which can affect our ability to perform well at our job.
The Cram Foundation has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to all employees. It is a free service that is aimed at assisting people to cope with everyday life problems that can arise. We believe that if people have supports in place, they can be happier in their personal life and more productive in the workforce. Our program is a confidential service that allows staff to access professional advice to help cope with life’s issues.
Volunteer
Volunteering with Cram can be an incredibly rewarding experience whilst making a real difference to the lives of people with a disability and their families. At Cram we support each of our volunteers through an induction program, training, guidance, debriefing and insurance cover.
